Climb On! Creme Review

My package of fun, courtesy of the Rx Review. |
The company grew from humble beginnings with the creation of the Climb On! Bar in 1996 to a fully operational company in 2000. Though there are only ten people on staff now, Climb On! Products still operates out of the same warehouse they moved into in 2003, but they're growing fast. And with good reason.
Since the creation of the Climb On! Bar 16 years ago, Climb On! has evolved to include a full line of skincare products, including sunscreen and lip balm. But they're not your typical skincare products by any means. Unlike most lotions and balms, Climb On! Products are made with food grade ingredients and are free from synthetic fillers, chemicals, petroleum and fragrances. Instead, they use food grade carrier oils, therapeutic grade essential oils, Fair Trade organic shea butter, organic aloe vera, unrefined beeswax, castile soap, witch hazel, distilled water and an assortment of herbal extracts, clays, powdered roots and herbs. But the company's commitment to truly pure ingredients goes beyond the products they create:
"Our mission at Climb On! is one we accept with joy and passion. We have a mission to provide education for those who are open to hearing how important our skin is as a living organism to our health. [We have a mission] to help people understand the difference between a truly pure or natural product and the marketing terms used to fool you into believing a product is 100% natural." Yep. They pretty much look like this all the time. |
- soothe windburned skin
- moisturize dry skin
- heal a variety of sizes of blisters from running, CrossFit workouts and more
- heal scrapes and rug burns
- soften calluses
The Good: Climb On! Creme really works. I usually put it on my hands right before bed and am always amazed at how much better they look when I wake up the next day. I never expected them to be completely healed, but am still impressed with the level of healing I can achieve overnight. I've used it on my elbows, ears and lips to soothe dry spots and had the same results. It's easy to apply and a little bit goes a long way. After six months, I've barely made a dent in the 4.5 oz. tube. And I love the fact that the Climb On! team's philosophy is, "if you can't eat it, don't put it on your skin."
The Not So Good: It's greasy. I wait until right before bed to use the Creme because it's almost impossible not to get it all over everything you touch once it's applied. But that's an attribute I'm willing to live with because the stuff works. It has a strong, albeit natural scent, which I love, but may not be appealing to everyone.
